WhatsApp Account Verification with Email Address for Enhanced Security

WhatsApp, the popular messaging app takes a step forward for its users’ privacy. WhatsApp cares about keeping its users safe from hackers. It has added some new features to make it harder for hackers to get into user accounts.

One of these features is two-factor authentication. This means that users have to enter a code that they get on their phone or email when they login to WhatsApp. This way, hackers cannot log in with just the user’s phone number.

Another feature is encrypting Google Drive backups. This means that the messages and media that users save on Google Drive are scrambled so that only the user can see them. This way, hackers cannot read the user’s chats even if they get access to their Google Drive.

WhatsApp is also working on another feature that lets users use an email address to verify their accounts.

Right now, users need a phone number to use WhatsApp. But sometimes, users may lose their phone number or change it. Then, they may not be able to use WhatsApp anymore. With an email address, users can still verify their account and keep using WhatsApp.
